While doing this course and specifically this activity, a question popped up in my mind :Why are Frogs always happy? And then found out because they eat whatever bugs them. Hehe Croaks!

So, If something bugs you Eat it. Eating a frog is to carry out your responsibility without procrastinating Which surely on the other hand can eat you

The term “ Pomodoro” was quite new to me but Ithink that I have been using this technique for so long. On encountering any task I roughly calculate time it would take which is always wrong. But let’s not get into that. Tips I usually use to complete (delay)my task are:

1.Break it into small steps Think of it as a giant, impenetrable mass

2.Choose a productive environment Don’t leave bed

3. Create a detailed timeline If it’s due in 15 mins. Then I have 15 mins.

4.Outline my course Realizing that task has no purpose just like my life

5. Just do it Error 404

These tips never labored me. So, I decided to write a blog assigned by Amal Academy using the Pomodoro technique

I commenced by setting my first-timer for 25minutes. I started writing and in the process of composing and scanning for some pictures I came across a picture that lifted some questions in my psyche and that was not relevant to this blog. So these casual thoughts consumed my time and I am penning these thoughts as my first distraction. And just as the process of peacefully writing the blog started my Mama came and started asking me what I want for Iftar. Which initiated a conversation and suddenly I thought back to my assignment and I started panicking. Somehow I managed. I paused for 5 minutes. And also rewarded myself with a pat on my back. Ah better!

Then I started writing again. It was going smoothly until my phone rang, it was my friend’s call. At first, I decided not to pick then I thought what if it is urgent then I picked up the call and there was no way coming back from that gossip world. When I came back into my mind I remember that I still have a blog to write then I heard a voice from my brother. He told me that my Favorite segment of the show is running. Which took a lot of my time.

It is where real panic started. I decided not to take any more breaks and go on writing. After that, it was easy as I had already dealt with most of the distractions. Now I was done with my blog and it was a satisfactory feeling. I felt how easy it was to finalize your work after removing all distractions.

Questions:

Q: Was this experiment difficult for you or not that difficult?

It was a little bit difficult for the first interval because those 25 minutes were not as short as I thought . Also Time management gave me a severe anxiety

Q: Did it help you accomplish more or about the same?

Yes, It took just 75 minutes for me to write a blog which is an accomplishment itself. I used to take more than 2 hours while writing and enjoying distraction. But this activity made me clear that these distractions are not something to enjoy cause they will give you panic once you are done enjoying.

Q:Do you plan on doing this again regularly, and what will you do to improve the experience?

Yes, I will use this technique, from now on. As it assisted me to stay directed and I believe that this trick will surely improve my time management. I understood that things are not as tough as we think.

This is the best method to resist your procrastination. Pomodoro technique helps to curtail the fear of failure by managing your time. And also helps you in accomplishing the task.
