Fixing Stuff Around

It’s the typical approach that people love the things / doings for which they would be rewarded. And yes, The Bitter part is most of us think that cleaning or fixing is not their part of duty, Somebody else would have done this.

In my life I have met a lot of people who are really organized when it comes to themselves but for the things surrounding them they become the most nasty. For Example :They can throw wrappers from the car window , rubbish in the parks, used cans in the ponds without thinking what impact it would have on the life of others.

My brother is in the Environmental protection agency so he keeps telling me about how certain avoidable practices and behaviors of people for which they have been educated are making the environment suffer. He often tells me about his surveys .So I asked him to take me with him next time so I can be of any help in fixing the environment as it is also a part of my project..!

Last Tuesday, He told me that we should visit the under construction site near our house which is now left with trash and is creating worse conditions for the people of my area as the stagnant water was breeding mosquitoes. So we went there and was shocked to see the conditions.

So, we decided to take the responsibility of the under construction site on our own so to avoid any serious illness to us and people surrounding us.

Dengue season is on peak and the conditions of the site can also promote breeding of Dengue larvae. We Went to the site for inspection taking into the consideration of personal protection. We wore gloves and masks to avoid any possible contamination. There was stagnant water (source of dengue larvae) and trash. First we decided to clear the trash, and then fill the stagnant water with sand.

It took a lot of time to fix this area but it was worth it. I was having a sense of accomplishment. It was a satisfactory feeling This act was appreciated by other people.

I was planning to do this for a long time but didn’t have courage. This project helped me to put my plan into action!
